Baggy Wool Shirts – Gratitude Rant #12


WARNING: Today’s gratitude rant might get a little sentimental.

Y’see, I wore a baggy wool shirt today…

And when I say “baggy”, I mean it was at least 4 or 5 sizes too big.

And when I say “wool”, I mean 100% wool, in all of its rough and itchy glory.

And with its bright red-and-blue plaid pattern, I don’t think anyone would accuse me of being overly “stylish” while wearing it.

Of Herbs And Fried Rabbit – Gratitude Rant #11


For three years now, I’ve been writing Gratitude Rants every November, and it’s always such a great experience.

I can honestly say that writing them has greatly enriched my life.

At the same time, I can also honestly say that Sundays are the hardest day of the week to write for!

Around here, Sunday is a special day. It’s the Lord’s day — and that brings with it all sorts of blessings. It’s a day of rest and rejuvenation. It’s a day of family and friends. It’s a day of service and sacrifice.

Knife Time – Gratitude Rant #6


Dinner was over. The dishes were done. I’d just finished reading no less than 18 consecutive children’s books to my 3 year old. And now what was I doing?

I was opening up the fridge — not for a midnight snack, but rather, to pull out the pot full of pheasant carcasses that needed cleaning, cutting, and bagging.
