Movie Nights – Gratitude Rant #8

IMG_4325

I think I’ve mentioned this before, but we don’t really watch much television around here. I mean, you can probably tell just by looking at the photo above that our TV is old.

We don’t have a satellite or cable or even Netflix — plus we’re usually just too darn busy to watch it.

Heck, the last time I even turned it ON was clear back in June.

But, as luck would have it, neither one of our girls took naps today, so they were both ready for an early bedtime. MORE than ready, actually…

After we had finished reading scriptures, saying prayers, and getting the cranky little princesses tucked into their beds, Lindsey and I breathed a sigh of relief, and then she looked at me and asked:

“You wanna watch a movie?”

Now, as fun as that sounds, I just kinda stared at her with a blank look on my face — because it actually took a minute for me to decide what I’d rather do:

1) Sit down and watch a movie, the first one I’d seen in almost a year.

— OR —

2) Go to bed early, also for probably the first time in almost a year…

After a bit of deliberation, we eventually chose to go with a movie — and it was SO much fun!

I’m so grateful for movie nights on the couch with my sweetheart!
