Reflections – Gratitude Rant #23

Well, friends…

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day — and that means we’ve come to the end of my daily “Gratitude Rants.”

(Thank goodness, right?!)

I hope you won’t be too disappointed with me for not writing one tomorrow. I intend to spend the entire day eating way too much food and just chilling with family (not looking at a computer screen).

I do want to take a minute tonight, however, and just jot down some of my reflections from this little gratitude experiment…

First of all, there really is POWER in gratitude. This month certainly hasn’t been perfect. We’ve definitely had our ups and downs. Life is always full of stress and disappointment and adversity — but expressing gratitude each and every day has most definitely made things better!

Being thankful hasn’t necessarily solved any of my problems, but it has changed the way I look at them.

I don’t mean to complain, but I’ve spent quite a bit of time and effort putting together these daily rants, and I’ve found myself spending a lot of time throughout the day just thinking about what I’m gonna write about next — and let me tell you, it has been such an uplifting experience for me!

Imagine spending pretty much the whole day just looking for things you’re grateful for. Believe me, they crop up in some of the most unlikely places!

I just wish I had the time and eloquence to describe every blessing that’s come our way. For every rant I typed, there were dozens of other tender mercies that I didn’t get a chance to write about…

But y’know, it’s really the little things that do the most to enrich my life. Little treats. Little adventures. Little interactions with friends and family.

At the end of the day, though, I really don’t expect my gratitude rants to change the world or anything — but I do hope they’ll maybe inspire you to look for the blessings in your own life. I also hope that you’ll take the time to express your gratitude, because that’s where the real power kicks in…

I can promise you, it’ll make things look brighter.

That being said, what are you thankful for?
