When was the last time you paid attention to those little “helicopter” seed pods that come spinning and whirling off of maple trees this time of year?
They seem to be scattered on nearly every single driveway, sidewalk, lawn, and gutter — but unfortunately, I never really pay them any mind. I’m usually just too busy or too preoccupied to even notice them…
Today, however, you wouldn’t believe how much fun I had playing with those crazy little whirligigs, throwing ’em up in the air, and watching ’em flutter back down to the ground!
Y’see, we actually arrived at church about 20 minutes early this morning (which is kind of a miracle in and of itself!) — and so Lindsey and I and our little monkey had a grand old time kicking through the autumn leaves, picking up sticks, and of course, playing with “a-COPT-ooz” (helicopters), before the services started.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — that little wild child of ours just brightens my day!
Who knew a grown man could get so much joy out of playing with helicopters? 😉
