It’s almost midnight (which is quite a bit later than my usual bedtime). I’m sitting in the dark, slouching exhaustedly on our ugly orange armchair — and I’m typing this gratitude rant with some of the most pruny fingers you’ve ever seen.
Y’see, I’ve been standing at the kitchen sink, cutting, washing, inspecting, and bagging pheasants since about 6 o’clock this evening…
Butchered a dozen of ’em, as a matter of fact.
I’m not sharing that information to complain though. My family was very fortunate to have such a successful hunt yesterday. The reason I’m telling you all this is so that you can understand just how thankful I am for my bed!
You might think this post is a cop-out — and maybe it is.
All I know is that my back is tired, my feet are sore, my eyes are blurry, and I am SO grateful to be going to sleep in a few minutes!
Have a good night, y’all!
